Stick to these rules and you won't go wrong

• Prior to lighting, remove and discard packaging.
• Keep burning candles within sight at all times; never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep burning candles away from flammable materials and out of reach of children and pets.
• Keep wick trimmed to 1/8” at all times.
• If smoking occurs, extinguish the flame, retrim the wick to 1/8”, remove trimmings and relight.
• Only burn candles in or near other heat sources, and never directly on furniture.
• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, or any combustible material. Keep the wick centred.
• Place your candle in an area free from drafts to discourage dripping and smoking.
• Extinguish candles with care, as wax may splatter. A candle quencher or snuffer is recommended.

Does Yankee Candle Company use lead wicks?

There has been a good deal of recent coverage in the media regarding possible health issues relating to candles containing lead wicks, some of which has unfortunately been confusing or misleading. In order to eliminate any concern or confusion on the part of our guests and consumers in general, THE YANKEE CANDLE COMPANY WOULD LIKE TO ASSURE YOU THAT YANKEE CANDLE DOES NOT USE LEAD WICKS IN ANY OF OUR CANDLE PRODUCTS. Moreover, the National Candle Association, of which Yankee Candle is a long-standing member, has already been working for some time to attempt to ensure the removal of lead-core wicks from the marketplace, and Yankee Candle will continue to support any appropriate efforts to do so.

All of our products are today manufactured with pure cotton wicks that are free from lead and completely safe. At Yankee Candle we care deeply about the health and well-being of our guests and customers. After all, many of them are our own families, friends and loved ones. We are therefore firmly committed to producing high quality candle products that can be enjoyed and enjoyed safely.
